Restaurant Confidential is run as an ethically managed company that puts ethics and "doing the right thing" above "doing business". Our mission is to both entertain and inform our audience of hospitality industry professionals. The founders love the restaurant and hospitality industry and are committed to help see it continue to prosper in the coming years.
Business man, world traveler, inveterate gourmet, amateur chef and oenophile (wine lover), James is an enthusiastic supporter of New England restaurant businesses. He writes extensively on food books, restaurants, food and wine. Restaurant Confidential represents a custom made opportunity for James to utilize his passions for technology, photography and writing. Originally from Europe (England), he has an eclectic taste in dining acquired during 25 years of extensive world travel and some serious high-end expense account dining (remember the dot com era?). He is a very strong advocate for consumer rights and ethics in business.
A successful Boston business woman, qualified nutritionist and previously a restaurant owner, Pia brings a unique viewpoint to our stories and interviews. She has a solid connection to the restaurant community and the issues that face restaurant owners everyday. Pia is a dedicated supporter of women's rights. She encourages women in business and shares her entrepreneurial skill freely with others just starting out in business. Pia formulated the concept of using part of our energies to promote charitable events. She works alongside the other Restaurant Confidential team members to support and encourage charitable activities throughout New England.
Christine has been in the trade publishing industry for the past 10 years as a writer and editor in New York and Boston. She had covered several industries including interior fashion, computer security and law enforcement. At Restaurant Confidential, Christine reports on Going Green issues, Technology, and other business issues facing the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Kim Lawrence spent years in the back of the house before becoming a journalist, copywriter and marketing consultant. The former editor of a regional restaurant trade journal is just some of the experience she brings to Restaurant Confidential. Kim interviews chefs to find out what makes them tick, writes about food & wine topics and also covers industry-related business issues.
