Only a few weeks away, here’s a sampling of what to expect and look for at the New England Foodservice & Lodging Expo.

This year’s New England Foodservice & Lodging Expo, being held April 6-8 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, promises a show that is fun, educational and informative. The premiere trade-only event for the New England restaurant and hospitality industries, it will host hundreds of exhibitors, special events, some new highlights and returning favorites.

Hosted by the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, a Welcome Reception will be held on the first evening of the show, Sunday, April 6, beginning at 5:30pm. All exhibitors and attendees are invited to the evening cocktail reception and advance reservations are not required.

Keynote Addresses

NEFS will feature keynote addresses from Wyc Grousbeck of the Boston Celtics and restaurateur Danny Meyer. Grousbeck will discuss branding and service in his keynote, “Thinking Big: Rebuilding Celtic Pride On and Off the Court” will take place on Sunday, April 6. Grousbeck assumed the role of Managing Partner, Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Boston Celtics on December 31, 2002, after leading a local investment group that purchased the team. He’s the NBA Governor of the Celtics, the Chair of the NBA Planning Committee, and is a member of the league’s Audit & Compensation Committee and Advisory/Finance Committee. His local roots and lifelong love for the Celtics served as the foundation for his decision to pursue such an endeavor.

On Monday, April 7, America’s Most Innovative Restaurateur and Hospitality Leader Danny Meyer will share the secrets of his success with his revolutionary – and winning – philosophy about “Enlightened Hospitality” in Setting the Table: The Transforming Power of Hospitality in Business. He also reveals his leadership style, which shakes up traditional thinking about management principles and people skills. According to Meyer, it takes great service and great hospitality to rise to the top: Service is the technical delivery of the product while hospitality is how the delivery of that product makes its recipient feel.

Thanks this really helps. I don't really have the time to go without knowing what's happening. The mailings they send out are too dense to read.
