About Restaurant Confidential


Restaurant Confidential Magazine was launched in February 2007. Since its launch, the magazine has garnered awards and plaudits for superior production values and high quality journalism. What makes Restaurant Confidential standout is the unique approach to delivering high-quality business information, industry news and entertainment to well over 6,000 restaurant owners and foodservice industry managers. With compelling articles, great images and a self deprecating sense of humor it has become an important part of the foodservices industry media.

 

Recurring throughout the last year was a “green” theme. Nothing is more important to the future of our planet than the way we all conduct our businesses. Writing month-in and month-out about how restaurants can save energy has led to our own internal investigation into ways we too can help cut energy costs. Producing a large high quality magazine and distributing that magazine throughout New England has a huge carbon footprint. It's hard to square our editorial opinions with our own behavior.

 

Restaurant Confidential is produced by a New England technology company, Intranet-Zones, Inc. In addition to the magazine Intanet-Zones run a very successful consumer restaurant site RestReview.com. Despite reaching millions of readers each year, the energy effects of RestReview.com is negligible – it is a really green operation.


So, it's time for Restaurant Confidential to “walk the talk” and take a big step toward reducing our impact on the planet. As of March 2008 the magazine will begin to move to an on-line model. Although we will be doing regular suppliers guides and reduced size magazines, we will earnestly make the move to on-line publication. This will save thousands of units of electricity and hundreds of gallons of gasoline as we move our production to an on-line model rather than print.

 

Restaurant Confidential will continue to fulfill its mandate of delivering high quality information and entertainment to the foodsevice industry. We will of course lose some of the impact that only high quality print and images have, but think what we are able to offer instead; searchable articles, picture libraries, video, audio, live links to suppliers, vendor databases and much more. All of this available 24 hours a day to foodservice professionals.

 

The future of publishing lies someplace in cyberspace. Restaurant Confidential intends to be part of that future as a leading e-magazine...
